Found July 24, 2012 on Ted's Army:

ImagesJust like Ben Cherington drew it up in the offseason, RBIs from Kelly Shoppach and Mike Aviles led to Boston's only offense in a pitcher's duel in Arlington.

Clay Buchholz threw yet another strong start. He stifled the Rangers' offense to four hits over seven innings. He did give up one run, and had some command issues, allowing three walks. He also didn't dominate the strike zone, as he only struck out one batter.

It was a good thing he found a way to be effective because the Sox got very little offense going. They collected six hits in all, four of which were from the bottom half of the order.

Bobby V's lineup wizardry -- placing Pedro Ciriaco, as the DH, 2nd, while demoting Carl Crawford to 7th -- proved worthless, as the two went a combined 0-for-7.

Also notables from the game: Buchholz picked off Ian Kinsler in the first and Kinsler was promptly ejected for no obvious reason. Must have said something the ump didn't like. Meanwhile, Vicente Padilla beaned Adrian Beltre in the head on an 0-2 count. Not a normal count to hit someone on (especially in a close game), but there are well-documented issues between Padilla and his former club. Something to keep an eye out for comment in the papers tomorrow.

And just like that we're back to .500! Quick, trade the prospects and let's make a run!

Video: Mike Aviles on Intentional Talk

Before yesterday's game against the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox shortstop Mike Aviles talked with MLB Network's Greg Amsinger and former Sox first baseman Kevin Millar. In the interview, the trio talked about Aviles' calves and his signing bonus amongst other things. The interview is well worth watch just to see Kevin Youkilis imitate Aviles' batting stance...

Clay Buchholz Able to Overcome Texas Heat, Rangers Lineup to Help Red Sox to Much-Needed Victory (Video)

Clay Buchholz was raised in Lumberton, Texas, so he knows a thing or two about the southwestern heat. And perhaps that's why he was able to make it through seven innings and 105 pitches of one-run baseball in the Red Sox 2-1 win on Tuesday. The right-hander admits that the heat is a factor every time the team travels to the Ballpark in Arlington, but he also says that it affected...

Red Sox Turn to Clay Buchholz, Once Again in Need of Redemptive Performance (Video)

The title of "best pitcher" this year for the Red Sox has been an elusive one. Nobody has been able to bear that mantle for long, as the rotation has struggled over the course of the year with inconsistency over and over again. Clay Buchholz can take the mound on Tuesday with a chance at changing that -- but it won't be easy. Buchholz will have to deal with a tough...

Buchholz Shines In Sox Win!

The Red Sox had lost 4 games in a row and if they had any chance to not make it 5 losses in a row, Clay Buchholz would have to once again behave as the defacto ace and stopper.  That is just what he did.  Buchholz didn't get the win, but he was the difference in this game bringing the Sox to their first win in what seemed like forever.  Clay Buchholz took the mound and not...
