Big surprise, the Sox lost again. This time, by a score of 7-3.

I can sum it up very easily. Jered Weaver pitched very well, Clay Buchholz did not. I thought this would be a guaranteed pitchers duel, it was anything but that. Clay Buchholz only went 5 1/3 innings, giving up 7 runs (all earned), on 12 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 3. 8 of 9 batters in the Angels' starting lineup recorded at least 1 hit, and 5 Angels' players recorded a multi-hit game. Jered Weaver had a much easier time against the Sox, going 7 innings, scattering 7 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, and struck out 5 Red Sox. Weaver is now an impressive 16-3. I'm not envious at all.

At the plate, the Sox were not that impressive. Sure, they got 10 hits, and once again, it was not enough. Scott Podsednik looked great at the top of the lineup, going 3-for-5 with 3 singles. Adrian Gonzalez followed up his 0-for-4 game 1 with an 0-for-5 tonight. The Sox hit a few doubles, stole a couple of bases, but once again, it was not enough and you probably don't care anymore.
