Expectations were sky high entering the 2012 season for Mat Latos. The Reds dealt a king's ransom during the offseason to acquire the right-hander's services from San Diego, and all in hopes that he could be the No. 2 starter the team so desperately needed. After watching how is individual campaign unfolded, I would venture to say that his first season in Cincinnati can be viewed as a successful one.
Here are some notables regarding Latos' year:
+ Was acquired from San Diego on December 17, 2011 in exchange for four players
+ Favored pitching during the day as evidenced by his 6-0 record and 2.76 ERA during day games
+ By comparison, he sported an 8-4 mark and 4.04 ERA in starts made during night games
+ Finished with 12 hits (.185 BA) to set a new career high
+ Struggled pitching against the Cardinals (4g, 1-2, 7.84 ERA)
+ Only lost twice in 28 starts after the month of April (13-2)
+ Despite concerns from pundits about him pitching in GABP, he actually pos...

Hamilton hit his first homer of the 2012 AFL.
On Friday, Peoria lost 8-7 to Salt River. It was about as even as an affair as you can get with both the Javelinas and Rafters banging out 12 hits on the afternoon.
-CF Billy Hamilton went 1-4, with a home run (1) and a walk. He was picked off at first after the walk.
-SS Didi Gregorius notched a hit in four at-bats.
Have you ever wondered how awesome it would be if we could see some of the Reds dress up in Halloween costumes? I have. And as much as I (and others) would love to feast my eyes on such a spectacle, it isn't likely that we will get the chance to. However, thanks to modern day technology and a little imagination, I have created the following post which features costume recommendations...
It is my favorite time of the year (prospect wise). It is time for the 2013 Prospect List. This week I will post 5 prospects per day and on Friday along with the Top 5 guys, I will also have a discussion/chat (if possible to find free chat software).

Today marks day 10 of the Top 12 Games of the Reds Season series. The campaign may have ended abruptly, and in somber fashion, but there is still plenty to smile about when thinking about the past six months or so. We will be counting down the greatest contests from the year each day until we reach the number one spot.
But for now, here is No. 3 on the list:
Cincinnati Reds pitching coach Bryan Price interviewed for the Miami Marlins managerial job, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Saturday. Price coached a Reds staff that had a 3.34 ERA this season. Cincinnati won the National League Central with a 97-65 record and reached the NL Championship Series. Price, 50, interviewed for Marlins job in 2006, which was given to Joe Girardi...
Have you ever wondered how awesome it would be if we could see some of the Reds dress up in Halloween costumes? I posed this precise question in yesterday's post and the same answer still holds true today. I have not only thought about how awesome it would be, but I have attempted to make it a reality as well. Here is the second half of the 2-day series featuring costume recommendations...
It took 10 innings in last night’s final game, but the San Francisco Giants swept the Detroit Tigers in the World Series. So that’s it for baseball for another year.
I didn’t watch a single bit of the series this year. In fact, I’ve barely seen an inning since the Reds were eliminated what feels like a couple months ago. I’d like to say it was some righteous protest or...
