REUTERS/ Mike Cassese (CANADA – Tags: SPORT BASEBALL) The Red Sox have announced that Hideki Okajima will make $1.75 million in 2011 for a one-year deal, with incentives that could take the contract over $2.25 million. Those incentives are based primarily on appearances, and he can become a free agent after the season. Okajima posted his worst season as a Red Sox reliever in 2010 and is now 35 years old. This represents represents a $1 million pay cut in base salary, but there’s still a very good chance that he’ll break spring training as the team’s most reliable left-handed option in the bullpen.
