Losers of six out of their seven, the Boston Red Sox try to finish a seven homestand on the right note with the Toronto Blue Jays, who come to Fenway Park for a three game weekend series. Boston has had early season success against the Blue Jays winning four of the first six meetings in 2013. In the 2012, the Red Sox went 2-7 vs. Toronto at home but were swept in the final two home series against the Jays last season. Boston took two out of three from them last June 25-27. The bright spot for the Red Sox is that they will have their three best starters going in this series. Both Clay Buchholz and Ryan Dempster fared very well last week in Toronto each allowing one run or less to the Jays. It will be key for them to continue to pitch well if the Red Sox want to stay atop the AL East before hitting the road for a nine game road trip beginning on Tuesday. Pitching Matchups: 5/10 7:10 pm Ramon Ortiz (0-0) vs. Jon Lester (4-0 3.30 ERA) 5/11 1:35 pm Mark Buehrle (1-2 7.02 ERA) vs. Clay ...

Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz has been accused of doctoring the ball but denied wrongdoing. Has the mystery substance been identified?
Clay Buchholz put the cheating accusations behind him and had a solid start against the Blue Jays on Saturday. The Red Sox Right-hander is 6-0 on the season with a 1.69 ERA.
Buchholz pitched through eight innings on Saturday, but her performance did not factor into the Sox’ 3-2 loss. After working through a grind the first few innings, Buchholz was able to turn a strong outing...
Wearing sunscreen at the ballpark is probably a good idea for fans and players. No need to risk melanoma when you're out there under the sun.
However, Boston Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz allegedly has more in mind than protecting himself from skin cancer by applying sunscreen to his arms. More specifically, his left arm.
According to Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan...
It does not look like you will need your sunblock at The Fens today. If the Red Sox are able to get the game in, it shapes up to be a good one.
It's Buchholz, the BullFrog and the Blue Jays part deux.
With their last lonely tear barely dry from getting spanked May 1, Clay Buchholz looks to tear through the Blue Jays lineup again. (Anyone notice...

BOSTON — Following Clay Buchholz’s last start against the Blue Jays, a media firestorm ensued because of accusations made against the right-hander. Everything is back to being peachy, though.
Toronto broadcaster and former big league pitcher Jack Morris was among those who accused Buchholz of doctoring the baseball with a foreign substance located on his forearm during his start...

Boy, was Jon Lester masterful Friday night or what? Now, Clay Buchholz needs to duplicate his performance (with or without sunscreen). The Boston Red Sox (22-14) go for their third series win against this Toronto Blue Jays (13-24) this season. Buchholz (6-0, 1.40 ERA) will be facing the Blue Jays for the first time since last week’s accusations...
BOSTON — The Red Sox don’t really have a problem producing baserunners. Once guys get on base, though, things tend to become awfully difficult.
The Red Sox missed out on a ton of scoring chances on Friday, yet it became a footnote in a 5-0 win because Jon Lester was almost perfect. Clay Buchholz wasn’t as perfect on Saturday, and the Sox’ futility with runners on base ultimately...
Yu Darvish has decent stuff.
Josh Donaldson nearly blew out his ACL bailing on this Rick Porcello curve
Clayton Kershaw‘s curve is a regular here for a reason.
Ditto to Adam Wainwright‘s curve.
Bartolo Colon is still pitching and he can still do it well.
I would accuse Clay Buchholz of cheating too.
Hyun Jin Ryu‘s slider is becoming his second plus pitch...

11:30 a.m.: David Ortiz started the season like a house on fire, hitting .500 (18-for-36) with three home runs and 15RBIs in nine April games. He has struggled of late, though, hitting just .179 (7-for-39) in May.
Ortiz will get the day off on Sunday, which is a move designed to get the slugger back-to-back days off — the Red Sox have an off day on Monday. That means Mike Napoli...

Jon Lester must watch Mad Men. He took the mound tonight for a team that had lost 6 of 7. Doubront is crumbling. The closers are on the DL. Fans are already losing faith. Clay Buchholz is being scrutinized for having a shiny arm. CBH is single-handedly shining the PED spotlight on David Ortiz. A clubhouse that a few days ago was surrounded in nothing...
