Tickets are still available for the Red Sox’ eighth annual Picnic in the Park, which is set to take place one hour after the conclusion of the 1:35 p.m. Red Sox game against the White Sox on Sunday, Sept. 1. Fans who buy tickets will be treated to a 45-minute autograph session with Red Sox players, a barbecue on the Fenway outfield, entertainment, a goodie bag, and a live auction. Tickets are available for just the picnic at $350 per person. There is also the MVP option, which includes a bleacher ticket to the game along with admission to the picnic for $500. Those who go with the MVP option will also get a baseball signed by a Red Sox legend, a chance to take a photo with the 2004 and 2007 World Series trophies, and entry into a raffle. All proceeds will go toward the Red Sox Foundation’s Red Sox Scholars and RBI Programs. Some of the items available through the live auction will be a hitting lesson for up to two children with Red Sox manager John Farrell and hitting coach Torey Lovullo, a pitching lesson for one child with Clay Buchholz and Jarrod Saltalamacchia and a chance to be a NESN reporter for a day. Most auctions will close on Aug. 31, and the top three bidders will have a chance to participate in a live auction during the picnic. Children under three can go for free, and all tickets must be bought in advance. NESN’s Jenny Dell and Sue Farrell, wife of John Farrell, talked about the upcoming event in the video below. One of the other items available in the online auction are tickets to watch the UFC when it comes to Boston on Aug. 17 with Shane Victorino. Since this event will take place before the picnic, fans will have to bid by Aug 15. Find out more about this opportunity from Dell and Victorino in the video below.
