PLAYERS: Ryan Dempster
TEAMS: Boston Red Sox
If you stayed at Fenway Park long after the World Series celebration calmed down, you may have been able to step into the batter’s box and take batting practice from Red Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster. The 36-year-old veteran just didn’t want to leave the ballpark after winning the first championship of his career, which is completely understandable. Family, friends and even Boston actor Mike O’Malley took a few swings before the night was over. Dempster made his MLB debut in 1998 for the Florida Marlins, the year after that franchise won its first World Series. Before arriving in Boston this season, he had only played in two career playoff games. Check out his late-night batting practice at Fenway in the photos below. Yes it's 3AM and Ryan Dempster the World Champ was just throwing BP to anyone still here. #feverdreamreal http://t.co/B6WtAMUSRM— Mike O'Malley (@TheMikeOMalley) October 31, 2013 Ryan Dempster throws BP to friends and family at Fenway at 3:00 A.M.: atmlb.com/1ct8...

Dustin Pedroia toughed it out. Now, it’s time to go under the knife. In his next appearance in the playoffs, after ten days, he allowed a dinger. In his next appearance in the playoffs, he allowed a dinger. WS awards: Red Sox win it all

The Boston Red Sox won the World Series Wednesday night with a 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at Fenway Park, but it wasn't without the help of these fine award winners. Here's your best from Game 6. Best program salesman: According to his hat, this magazine flogger wants to party like it's 1918. By the look of his face, that means some sort of demonic witch...

Jennifer Garner Wears Beard to Support Red Sox, Still Looks Hot

If the Red Sox win the World series, I suspect we’ll soon see David Ortiz, Shane Victorino and Jonny Gomes making the talk show circuit, much like Papi, Manny and Damon did back in 2004. In the meantime, we’ll have to make do with Mrs. Ben Affleck talking on The Jimmy Kimmel Show about what it’s like to marry into Red Sox Nation and looking pretty f#$king fetching in a “Full Napoli.”

And here are some rowdy Red Sox fans flipping over a car

Welp, you knew videos like this were coming. After the Red Sox won their first World Series at home in nearly a century, fans spilled out onto the streets of Boston and rioted like you’d expect them to. Here’s video of an extra rowdy group flipping over one unlucky person’s poor car. And, hey, look…they even took the time to pose for pictures on top of said car. Because nothing...

Hirsute Heroes May Shave Beards For Charity

They were so much a part of the identity of the 2013 Red Sox, it's hard to think of them without their beards. But now that the Holy Grail has been captured, there is talk that sometime soon their facial hair will be shorn for charity. Some, like Jarrod Saltalamacchia, have hinted that they want to keep their whiskers, but it will be hard to resist the opportunity to help others...

Relive the Best Moments From the Red Sox’ 2013 World Series Title Run (Photos)

2004 was a miracle, but 2013 was a masterpiece. The 2013 Boston Red Sox achieved so much during the regular season and postseason that it can be hard to recall each individual triumph and success of the roster full of over-the-hill or under-powered players. The players found cracks in the daunting pitching staffs of Tampa Bay, Detroit and St. Louis, while the pitching of John Lackey...

Red Sox Look To Bring It Home To Fenway

I’m not one to launch into poetic waxing and waning about the romanticism of baseball, and what it symbolizes to so many. This team has exceeded our wildest expectations no matter what happens over the next two nights. They’ve made fools out of so many who predicted another gloomy season at Fenway Park. I keep hearing the WEEI promos about “The Road to Redemption,” but they’ve...
