The Guru Contributing Writer Felix Doubront had another strong outing and David Ortiz had a record-breaking night as the Red Sox pounded the Seattle Mariners 11-4 Wednesday night. Doubront shutout the Mariners for six innings before giving up a two-out run in the seventh. Doubront threw 107 pitches with six strikeouts and only two walks. Doubront did not allow a base runner beyond first until the fifth inning. Doubront is now 6-3 on the year and has a 2.70 ERA in last 11 starts. David Ortiz wasted no time in breaking Harold Baines record for most hits all-time by a designated hitter. Ortiz hit a double to lead off the second inning giving him 1,689 career hits as a DH. Big Papi already holds marks for the most runs scored, doubles, home runs, extra-base hits and RBI by a designated hitter. Ortiz added his team leading 19th home run in the third.
