Red Sox Sign Brian Shouse

Brian Shouse signed a minor-league deal with the Red Sox on January 4th, according to the club's transactions page.  The deal was discovered by Over The Monster, though Boston has yet to make an official announcement regarding the move. The 41-year-old posted a 4.50 ERA and 2.43 K/BB in 45 games for the Rays last season.  On December 7th, the Type B free agent declined arbitration from the club.  Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times writes that Tampa Bay will not recieve compensation for the reliever, as he did not ink a major-league contract.
