Orioles P Chen wants to be more competitive

Wei-Yin Chen has become Baltimore's biggest winner. Just 12 months ago, Chen was an unknown for the Orioles. The 27-year-old Taiwan native arrived in Baltimore by way of Japan, where he spent four seasons. The unknown turned into a huge bargain for Baltimore, who signed him to a three-year, $11 million contract before the 2012 season. Japanese left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada and...

Valentine seems to take shot at BoSox

Former Red Sox manager and incoming Sacred Heart athletic director Bobby Valentine had some final words regarding his former club during a brief interview on Monday.

Orioles encouraged by Tsuyoshi Wada's first bullpen session

There have been a lot of firsts for Tsuyoshi Wada since he underwent Tommy John surgery last year.  The Baltimore Orioles pitcher threw a bullpen session yesterday.  It was the first time he has done so since undergoing the surgery back in May of 2012. John Farrell Not Ruling Out Chance of Jackie Bradley Jr. Making Red Sox’ Opening Day Roster

Jackie Bradley Jr. is one of the best prospects in baseball, but by most accounts, he’s not quite ready to hang around in the big leagues. After a quick start to spring training, however, the young outfielder may be making things interesting in Red Sox camp. Boston manager John Farrell was asked about Bradley Jr.’s chances of making the big league roster for Opening Day, and...

Mike Napoli Feels ‘Good to Go,’ Scheduled to Make Spring Training Debut on Friday Against Pirates

Mike Napoli continues to be pain free, so it looks like the training wheels are about to come off. Napoli, who did some more baserunning drills on Wednesday, is on track to make his spring training debut on Friday when the Red Sox host the Pittsburgh Pirates. Napoli, who was diagnosed with a hip condition during the offseason, has been brought along slowly by the Red Sox’ coaching...

Bobby Valentine is moving on, doesn’t want to talk about ‘stupid people’

Bobby Valentine has taken a job as the athletic director at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, and he he is looking forward to turning the page and forgetting about the abysmal season he endured with the Boston Red Sox last year. It’s a strange decision for a strange man, but Valentine apparently wanted to add NCAA athletic director to his resume that already includes managing...
