As an appetizer to Sunday’s Hall of Fame inductions, the three greatest living St. Louis Cardinals managers will be recognized in Cooperstown on Saturday.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will celebrate Red Schoendienst, Whitey Herzog and Tony La Russa during the Awards Presentation at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 21 at Doubleday Field. The three managers guided the Cardinals to a total of four World Series titles: Schoendienst in 1967, Herzog in 1982 and La Russa in 2006 and 2011. An appearance of the 2011 World Series Trophy will also be featured.
The Hall of Fame Awards Presentation honors the recipients of the Museum’s broadcasting and baseball writing awards. FOX Sports analyst Tim McCarver will be presented with the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence and Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun will receive the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious baseball writing.
