FF Locker Room:
The Cincinnati Reds have acquired right-handed minor league starting pitcher Parker Frazier from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for veteran pitcher Armando Galarraga. Frazier, who has struggled mightily between AA and AAA this season, going 49 innings of 4.93 ERA ball is a project who could benefit from the change of scenery.

Biggest Surprise of First Half: The Colorado Rockies, despite being 4 games below .500 for the season, actually have been exceeding everyone’s expectations through the first half of the 2013 season. We all know that the Rockies have a good offense, but despite the amazing seasons being...
Do the Rockies need a starter, or a hitter? As the Colorado Rockies hit the All-Star Break, they sit just four games under .500. That might not sound great to those who have been watching them, but reality is, they have made huge strides in the right direction. On Sunday, Jhoulys Chacin continued his impressive statement for the Rockies. In picking up his ninth win, the right-hander...
Ask any minor league player and they’ll tell you all they hope for is one phone call. A phone call informing them that their dream has come true. That the hours of sweat and blood spent perfecting their craft was about to pay off. A call providing their ticket to the big show. For many the stage is too great. Their time on a Major League Baseball roster is short lived, and in...

Biggest Surprise of 1st Half:
When all five starting pitchers make 30 or more starts, just like they did in 2012, you would expect maybe they wouldn’t have the same amount of luck the following year. However the Reds’ starting pitching is still very much reliable and has been blessed with good health the past two years aside from missing...
The Colorado Rockies added right handed pitcher Armando Galarraga on Monday in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds.
Galarraga, 31, had been pitching for the Reds Triple-A team in Louisville. During his tenure with Louisville Galarraga had made 16 starts and compiled a 2.98 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP.
Last season Galarraga made five starts at the major league level with Houston going 0-4...

I have been working on taking Rockies Review to the next level. While I enjoy interacting with Colorado Rockies fans, I also think it would be fun to do giveaways, and work with companies looking to promote themselves. With that in mind, I am embarking on my first contest. In cooperation with A+E Networks Home Entertainment and MLB Productions, I am offering three copies of Prime...
It isn't known if the Rockies will be buyers or sellers, but it sounds like they will be the ones buying this time and not the ones selling. One of the positions the Rockies may look to improve as the deadline approaches is their bullpen, which is needing one more piece to the puzzle. It appears that they have their sights set on one reliever in particular.
The Colorado Rockies...
Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, who won the NL All-Star Game Final Vote, could miss the event because of a sprained thumb.
Michael Cuddyer hit a two-run homer and drove in another run to help the Colorado Rockies defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 Sunday in the teams' last game before the All-Star break.
The clubs split their four-game series, leaving Colorado with a 46-50 record. The Dodgers fell back to .500 at 47-47.

Donald Lutz had two hits and scored twice in a Blue Wahoos shutout win on Sunday night.
Sunday wasn't the best of days for Braves right-hander Julio Teheran.
Teheran went down as the losing pitcher in Cincinnati's, 8-4, win over Atlanta after allowing five runs in 5.1 innings of work. The rough outing essentially ballooned his ERA to 3.35 on the season.
Two of the earned runs Teheran surrendered came in the third inning when Jay Bruce tattooed his 19th...
