The Cincinnati Reds have decided to re-sign right handed pitcher Jonathan Broxton to a three-year, $21 million deal according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports. For that kind of money, Broxton will probably take over the closer gig with the Reds and lefty flamethrower Aroldis Chapman would probably become a starter.
Since his arrival to Cincinnati, Broxton went 3-3 with a 2.82 ERA, 2.42 FIP, 8.0 K/9, 1.2 BB/9 and 0.4 HR/9 in 22.1 innings pitched. He was also credited with four saves, two blown saves and ten holds during that time.
