After a lackluster 8 innings, the Reds started to come back in the 9th, having the bases loaded with no outs, allowing Miguel Cairo to come to the plate and drive in the tying run. Unfortunately, two strikeouts and a pop-out ended the Reds best chance of winning the game. The Giants came back in the bottom of the ninth, and won the game with an Angel Pagan ground rule double with men on first and second. Although the series isn't a total loss, coming out of the first series of a West Coast road trip with a split series is a small victory before heading into LA. The Good - Bronson Arroyo pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, 2 K's and 2 walks. A performance one would think would be good enough to win, at least if slugger Joey Votto was in the line-up. His ERA is now 4.06 - Ryan Ludwick stepped up with Joey Votto out with knee inflammation, going 3 for 4 and crossing the plate once.
