PLAYERS: Rich Hill
TEAMS: Boston Red Sox

Rich Hill is one of my fav members of the Red Sox. And no, not just because I crazily asked him to sign a picture of him and his cats: Rich Hill has been rehabbing from Tommy John surgery and signed a minor league deal to stay with the Red Sox this off season. Hill was having himself quite an impressive season in 2011 until he grabbed his elbow on the mound and was headed for surgery. Here is a video from the Sox about his rehab and how he is preparing himself to be a productive part of the Sox in 2012:

Arbitration hearing likely for Ortiz, Aceves

And now for something completely different, the Red Sox may actually have to attend an arbitration hearing.  The first in a decade.  It appears as though neither the Sox nor Ortiz are backing down from their numbers. ESPN's Gordon Edes has the story: It appears "likely" that the Boston Red Sox and David Ortiz are headed to a hearing to decide his arbitration...

Player Profile #84: Josh Beckett | SP | BOS

It took buckets of fried chicken and beer to slow down Josh Beckett last year (5.84 ERA in Sept.), but that didn’t stop him from having a nice comeback from his disastrous 2010 campaign. Beckett will never shake his injury woes, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a reliable fantasy pitcher. He’s reached the 190-inning mark in two of his last three seasons...

Bobby Valentine Comes Away From Town Hall Meeting Impressed With Red Sox Fans' Knowledge, Passion

Cubs fans: Epstein needs your patience

Theo Epstein says he doesn't believe in curses. Good thing. He has taken on two of the bigger curses in professional sports. He licked the Curse of the Bambino in Boston. Now comes the Chicago Cubs and the curse of the Billy Goat, which has reached such epic proportions that the believers think that former Cubs players take the curse with them when they move on, like Bill Buckner...

It appears "likely" that the Boston Red Sox and David Ortiz are headed to a hearing to decide his arbitration case, a major league source with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday.

The Boston Red Sox say goodbye to some familiar names and welcome in a couple new guys to the 2012 roster

by Nathan Conley Man, I love when the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl. Not only do I get to cheer on my team for a chance to add another piece of hardware to the Boston sports teams’ trophy case, but it also shortens the gap between football and baseball season. After the Patriots beat the Giants on Sunday, 27-23, New England will have less than two weeks tocelebrate. ...

Ben Cherington Rates Odds of Landing Another Starting Pitcher as 'Unlikely'

WORCESTER -- Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington hasn't met personally with free-agent pitcher Roy Oswalt. But as each day passes along, the likelihood of landing the 34-year-old decreases. "We wouldn't rule out adding a starter, but I think it's unlikely at this point," Cherington said before Wednesday's Town Hall session. "We're going to keep...

Your Morning Dump... Where "options" still exist

Every morning we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump... Ben Cherington said earlier this week that it was unlikely the Red Sox would add a starting pitcher before spring training. But he also said that he couldn't rule it out. To the best of my ability...

GM says Boston likely out of Oswalt running

The Red Sox are unlikely to add another starting pitcher, GM Ben Cherington said Wednesday night, tempering reports that have linked Boston to free agents Roy Oswalt and Edwin Jackson this offseason.

Red Sox hire veteran scout Hughes

The Red Sox have added veteran scout Gary Hughes, who will be in his 45th year in the game this season.

Initial roster won't be Red Sox's final roster

It's always been a misnomer to call the 25-man roster at the end of Spring Training final, a point likely to be exacerbated by the number of position battles the Red Sox will host this spring in Fort Myers, Fla.
