Reliever Chad Durbin Leaves Phillies to Sign With Cleveland Indians

As predicted, relief pitcher Chad Durbin will not be spending the 2011 season with the Philadelphia Phillies. ESPN reported that the Cleveland Indians have signed the 33-year old pitcher to a contract. Durbin spent the 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons with the Phillies. He was a key reliever on the 2008 world champion team. He struggled in 2009 but regained his form in 2010, posting a 4-1 record and a 2.33 strikeout-to-walk ratio. In all three seasons, he pitched in over 50 games. Durbin is a reliable workhorse who can instantly help the Indians’ bullpen.
