Outfielder Melky Cabrera became persona non grata with the San Francisco Giants after he was suspended in August for a positive drug test, but apparently not every team feels the same way about this year's All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. Cabrera, 28, is now a free agent, and the New York Post reported that at least five teams have expressed interest in his services. The report didn't name the teams, though it did say the New York Yankees and New York Mets weren't among them. If Cabrera hadn't taken his name out of consideration for the NL batting championship, he would have been the winner with a .346 mark. In 113 games for San Francisco this year, he had 11 homers, 60 RBI and 13 stolen bases. His .390 on-base percentage would have ranked sixth in the league, and his .516 slugging percentage would have tied for eighth. The Giants had the option of activating Cabrera for the NL Championship Series and the World Series after he served his 50-game suspension i...

Melky Cabrera Drawing Interest. Really.

Looks like Melky Cabrera still might get a fat paycheck even though he got popped for elevated testosterone levels suggesting PED use. It is being reported that at least five teams have expressed interest in the outfielder. Why? I'm not sure. Gregor Blanco’s rise from obscurity, and his comparison to another postseason surprise

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco came into the 2012 season probably wondering what AAA team could use him as an everyday player. The last thing he could have thought was he would be the Giants everyday LF throughout their run to the World Series Championship. While guys like Pablo Sandoval, Buster Posey and Marco Scutaro led the Giants to their victory, Blanco remained a constant...

Pablo Sandoval rocks customized “Panda” jersey at 49ers game

San Francisco is a city in high spirits regarding their sports teams right now. The Giants just won the Word Series last month and the 49ers are a Super Bowl contender. Despite playing a resilient St. Louis Rams team to a 24-24 tie yesterday (the first in the NFL since 2008), there was a special guest at Candlestick Park to take in the 49ers game. That guest? The one and only Pablo...

Mets Are Looking For Help In Outfield, But Not In On Melky

There were a lot of things wrong with the Mets in 2012, but one thing they absolutely have to fix in 2013 is their outfield depth.  They have their eyes on some free agents that could help out their team a great deal but are somewhat high risks.  Among these people, the picks at the top of the list are Melky Cabrera and Shane Victorino.  Both can help the team out a great deal...

2013 MLB Offseason: NL West

We continue on the west coast this time around to take a look at the hotly contested National League West. The San Francisco Giants have won two World Series titles in the last three seasons, but they have hardly dominated. Each race has come down to the final couple of weeks in the last three years. As many as three teams have a very strong claim to the 2013 crown, so the Giants...

Like Kissing The Friendzone

Yes, in addition to commentary on the Giants, we have some characters, and they have lives too! As a disclaimer, since three people will believe otherwise… The topic of this and the upcoming comics are a story I’d planned to touch upon since this comic was first brainstormed years ago.  I wasn’t even planning to do it this week, but the ridiculous cliché about ties and the...
