The Philadelphia Phillies reportedly are planning to activate shortstop Chase Utley on Wednesday. Utley, who is on a minor-league rehabilitation assignment, is expected to play for Class AAA Lehigh Valley on Tuesday and then make his major-league debut the next day, according to CSNPhilly.com. The 10-year veteran has yet to play this season after suffering from a degenerative problem with his left kneecap. During his minor-league rehab, Utley has played nine games for Class A Clearwater, going 5 for 32 (.156 batting average) with one homer and five RBIs. Utley, a career .290 hitter, batted .259 last season in 103 games, hitting 11 home runs with 44 RBIs.
