Reports out of Boston suggest the Red Sox will meet with former major leaguers Mike Maddux and Sandy Alomar Jr. about their managerial vacancy.Maddux, who spent last season as the pitching coach with the Texas Rangers, is also expected to meet with the Chicago Cubs about their opening.Alomar Jr, a bench coach with the Cleveland Indians, has long expressed a desire to manage in the big leagues.Both interviews are expected to take place next week.Boston is seeking a replacement for the departed Terry Francona, who was let go at the end of the regular season after the Red Sox failed to make the postseason.
