Free agent outfielder Juan Pierre agreed to a one-year, $1.6 million deal with the Marlins, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. Multiple media outlets confirmed that the sides came to terms. The Marlins recently agreed to trade five high-profile, high-priced players, including shortstop Jose Reyes, right-hander Josh Johnson and left-hander Mark Buehrle, to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for a package of young players and prospects. Pierre, 35, is coming off a good season with the Philadelphia Phillies. In 130 games, he hit .307 with a .351 on-base percentage, one homer, 25 RBI and 37 stolen bases.
