Although the Tigers lost the game, it was a great way to end his rookie campaign. Nobody knew who this 20-year-old sinker baller was at the start of the season, but everyone knew at the end. With all the recognition that came with success, monumental expectations for upcoming years came with it. Since Porcello’s rookie year in 2009 when he posted a 14-9 record and a 3.96 ERA, Porcello has put up a 24-20 record with an ERA of 4.83. With failure comes knowledge; with knowledge comes success. 2012 could be the year that Porcello finally shows what everyone knows he is capable of.
