It's been that kind of year for the Yankees.
Thousands of fans were ushered through the gates of Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night empty-handed after they lined up extra early with hopes of receiving a Mariano Rivera bobblehead doll.
The first 18,000 attendees were supposed to receive a bobblehead of the greatest closer of all time as Rivera nears his final game before retiring at the end of the season. But the bobbleheads didn't make it to the ballpark on time.
So the first 18,000 fans were handed a voucher to pick up a bobblehead once they were on site.

Total debacle at the #Yankees game tonight. They totally botched Mariano Bobblehead night. What a zoo! I'd expect better from them.
