Yankees closer Mariano Rivera met with Indians employees - ushers, ticket salesmen, custodians and the team's longtime drummer - to say thank you on his final visit to Progressive Field. Rivera, baseball's career saves leader who is retiring at the end of the season, spent 30 minutes before Wednesday's game meeting with some of the people who work behind the scenes to make the game possible. Rivera answered questions, posed for pictures and gave each employee an autographed baseball. At the start of the session, Rivera asked, ''Where's the drummer?'' hoping to meet iconic Indians fan John Adams, who is celebrating his 40th season banging a large drum in Cleveland's bleachers. Rivera told Adams that he respected his loyalty. Adams told Rivera that he hits the drum to relieve stress ''and you've given me a lot of stress.''
