Things may not have been so grand for Robinson Cano — after struggling through the playoffs a couple of weeks ago — but things are really looking up for the New York Yankees second baseman in recent days. After winning the American League Silver Slugger award last week for being the top offensive player at his position for the third straight year, Cano also became a citizen of the United States on Tuesday. Cano tweeted that he was sworn in and linked photos of the ceremony with these words: "Very proud day for me. I just became a US citizen, God bless America!" Cano hit .313 with a career-high 33 home runs during the season. He also drove in 94 RBIs and scored 105 runs before he went into a mind-boggling slump in the playoffs. Maybe this occasion will put the some of the dandy back into his Yankee doodle.
