Jonah Keri of ESPN's Grantland tweeted out this hilarious video of Colorado Rockies first base coach Rene Lachemann lecturing a young Phillies fan during Wednesday night's Rockies-Phillies game. The speech, which was shared on the Phillies broadcast, was spurred by Lachemann giving the fan a ball and then going on a run of typical "be a good kid" tips, including "take out the trash", "clean your room", "don't pee on the toilet seat", "don't get a cell phone", "don't play video games", "do your homework", "eat your vegetables", and "don't fit with your brother and sister". He topped off his speech by telling the kid to sit down and watch the Rockies whoop the Phillies (in a game they lost 4-3 in walk off fashion). There's nothing really wrong with this, it's just hilarious to see Lachemann roll off all of life tips while barely taking a breath.  Rene Lachema...

Phillies beat Colorado Rockies in walk-off fashion, but Juan Nicasio shows growth

Juan Nicasio has actually enjoyed success with one real pitch.Walk-off losses sting whether they are in April or September, whether the team is 20 games over .500 or 20 games under .500. The sting just seems to go away a little quicker when it's August and the race is over.At this point, with the Rockies buried in the National League West race, and nowhere near the wild card...

Colorado Rockies scratch out a win for Jhoulys Chacin

Jhoulys Chacin has been phenomenal all season long for the Rockies. The stat-geeks claim that pitcher's wins is one of the most overrated stats in baseball. It makes some sense, why does a pitcher who gave up one run in seven innings get a loss when his team doesn't score, then another pitcher gets a win when he gives up five runs in five innings because his team offense crushed...

Off-season decisions are going to be tough for Colorado Rockies fans

Rockies fans are going to make tough choices if nothing changes.Chad Bettis will have to wait at least one more start before picking up his first Major League win on the mound. The rookie looked like he was going to pick up the win, giving the Colorado Rockies a split of the four game series with Philadelphia before Josh Outman, Matt Belisle, Rafael Betancourt, and Jeff Francis, of...

Colorado Rockies First Base Coach Lectures Phillies Fan(Video)

Jonah Keri of ESPN tweeted out this wicked awesome video of Colorado Rockies first base coach, Rene Lachemann, lecturing a young Phillies fan during Wednesday night’s game. Colorado Rockies’ Tulowitzki: last stop won’t be Cooperstown

Last night in Philly, Troy Tulowitzki was on display. He crushed his 22nd home run of the season into deep left field and then made a ranging play at short that was worthy of a Web Gem.  The last seven days Tulo has hit safely in 10 of 23 at-bats and tallied five RBI and two home runs. His efforts last night led the Rox to a win over the Phils 5-3. Last night, Tulo flashed the...

Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez taking slow steps to recovery

After 15 days on the disabled list, the time has come to test Carlos Gonzalez's sprained middle finger. He won’t be returning to the lineup yet, but the preliminary test is simply swinging a bat. According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com that will happen Wednesday, and the Rockies will see how his finger responds. Gonzalez sprained the middle finger on his right hand when...

Rockies' Rafael Betancourt exits with 'potentially serious' elbow injury

Colorado Rockies closer Rafael Betancourt was removed from last night's appearance with an elbow injury. Anytime a pitcher's elbow is connected to injury there is concern, and that's certainly the case with Betancourt. The Rockies believe the veteran closer may have suffered a ulnar collateral ligament tear, an injury that could sideline him for over a full year, according...

Bettis denied win in Rockies' 5-4 loss to Phils

Chad Bettis will have to wait a little longer for his first major league victory. Domonic Brown hit a game-ending RBI single to give the Philadelphia Phillies a 5-4 comeback victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night, spoiling the rookie's bid for his first win. The Phillies scored two runs in the eighth and two more ninth for their second come-from-behind win in as...

Rockies’ Rex Brothers Balks Twice During One At-Bat, Michael Young Sees Five Strikes (Video)

The balk rule is one of baseball’s laws that’s rarely enforced and often misunderstood. Even some major league umpires have admitted to not fully understanding its vague language about “deceiving” the runner. On Tuesday night, Colorado Rockies pitcher Rex Brothers somehow managed to cross the umpires twice, not just in the same game, but while pitching to the same batter...

Tony La Russa couldn't help himself. "What a play!" La Russa works for the commissioner's office the first step in the rest of his life before he enters the Hall...
