Cook posted a 3-10 mark with a gaudy 6.03 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in 18 games this past season.
The 32-year-old battled injuries all season - ranging from an index finger issue to back spasms.

The Colorado Rockies exercised the option on veteran first baseman Jason Giambi's contract Saturday.
The $1 million option for the 2012 season was quickly agreed upon by the 40-year-old slugger.
Giambi batted .260 with 13 homers and 32 RBIs in 131 at-bats this season.

Carlos Gonzalez won’t win a second straight Gold Glove Award. Apparently, he’ll have to settle for being the most versatile outfielder in the major leagues.
They named the finalists for the Gold Gloves a few hours ago and CarGo wasn’t among them. The three candidates in left field were Matt Holliday, Ryan Braun and Gerardo Parra.
Maybe that’s it. Those guys played left field...
