He seems to be ok and will start Monday. Brad Lincoln, who would have started the game had Correia been unavailable, will stay in the bullpen for the time being.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Colorado Rockies – Games 17 and 18

My main man Kevin Correia with another quality start.  That’s why I love the guy so much.  I’m very surprised he didn’t summon all his powers to get a win out of this one though.  Maybe he traded his win even in bad starts powers for a be reasonable at PNC Park? Either way I’ll [...]

A.J. Burnett starting for the Pirates tonight

In a surprise move this afternoon, the Pirates announced that A.J. Burnett will start tonight in place of Kevin Correia, who will sit out with discomfort in his left side. Burnett was supposed to make his final rehab start tonight for Double-A Altoona. His previous two rehab starts both went very poorly, but this is exciting nonetheless. Correia says he “feels fine” and isn...

The bunting in this game made me angry, but I want to save most of these thoughts for later so that I can be more coherent and (hopefully) eloquent about it. For tonight, the Pirates had one of their...

Pirates vs. Rockies – Postponed

The Pirates have announced that due to inclement weather today’s game with the Rockies will be played Wednesday as part of a double header. At this rate Kevin Correia will make his next start on two months rest.

Battling back

The Pirates battled back from two deficits and earned a tough win on Tuesday night over the Rockies. Kevin Correia got off to a rough start in his 2012 home debut, allowing a 2-run bomb to Carlos Gonzalez in the first inning.
