Colorado Rockies fans can relax. The Rockies will not trade Troy Tulowitzki or Carlos Gonzalez. That statement comes from Rockies owner Dick Monfort through Troy Renck of The Denver Post. Rockies assistant general manager Bill Geivett reiterated the statement, saying that the Rockies have no intent of trading Tulowitzki (AKA “Tulo”) or left fielder Carloz Gonzalez (“Cargo”). Rumors have flown about both players, especially Tulowitzki, since it came out that the St. Louis Cardinals were willing to trade some young starting pitching for a shortstop. Even with the Rockies in need of pitching, Geivett is adamant that they will not part with their franchise players. Said Geivett, “Nothing has changed with that. The only thing that has changed is there was another (national) article written about it.” The Rockies have finished in last place for two straight years, but the offense is not the reason.
