Found July 27, 2013 on Fox Sports:
Alex Rodriguez didn't stop to talk with reporters after his rehabilitation session at the team's minor league complex, two days before Major League Baseball is likely to suspend the New York Yankees third baseman for his connection to a clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs. Coming back from January hip surgery and strained quadriceps he hurt in late July, Rodriguez increased the intensity of his leg workout by taking on-field batting practice and running the bases at the Yankees' minor league complex. A-Rod felt tightness in the quad before the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders game on July 20. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he will play in a simulated game Thursday at the minor league complex. Rodriguez could be sent to Double-A Trenton for a new rehab assignment on Friday - but a suspension would prevent him from playing in any major or minor league games unless the penalty is stayed.

Teammates ready to trash A-Rod?

An anonymous teammate of Alex Rodriguez says Yankees players are prepared to trash the third baseman if it is discovered he used PEDs and lied about it.

Oh, A-Rod, of course you chose that doctor

Before we get started on parsing the mysteries of Alex Rodriguez, know that this is the source of inspiration for the post. Thanks, Yahoo! Expert, Tim Brown. Now, into the depths of sports lunacy. Much beloved centaur and former best baseball player in the world, Alex Rodriguez has been a source of comedy and controversy for a long time. The Biogenesis scandal has just been another...

Alex Rodriguez’s Doctor Has Been Reprimanded by State Board of Medical Examiners Over Steroid Prescriptions

TAMPA, Fla. — A doctor retained by Alex Rodriguez for a second opinion — one that contradicted the New York Yankees’ diagnosis of his leg injury Wednesday — was reprimanded this year by New Jersey’s board of medical examiners over steroid prescriptions. Rodriguez is one of more than a dozen players under investigation by Major League Baseball for alleged ties to a Florida...

Alex Rodriguez Is Dead. He Just Doesn't Know It Yet.

Pout All You Like Perhaps the only thing that both the PED haters and the fans of the individual players, affected teams or just those who want the world to move on from all of this can agree on is this... the waiting for MLB's inevitable strike against the Biogensis suspects is, well, ridiculous and off-putting. Some teams, like the Tigers with Jhonny Peralta, the A's with...

The media has made me feel sorry for Alex Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez is one of the most scorned athletes in the media today. There is a palpable amount of hatred towards A-Rod from the media, fans, and hell, even Yankees executives. And yet, the reasons for all of the disdain towards Rodriguez are petty at best. Yet, that doesn't stop media members from taking snipes at Rodriguez whenever his name pops up, despite the fact that...

Alex Rodriguez: Enough doctors, let’s play

Alex Rodriguez obviously wanted his personal doctor, Dr. Michael Gross, to appear on WFAN Wednesday and claim he is fully healthy and does not have a Grade 1 quad strain, contrary to the New York Yankees’ diagnosis. Now that he has attempted to make a point, Rodriguez wants to move forward. On Thursday, A-Rod released [...]

Report: MLB Suspensions in Biogenesis Case Likey to be Announced This Week

It looks like Major League Baseball is ready to drop the hammer on the rest of the players involved in the Biogenesis scandal sometime this week, according to a report by The New York Post. MLB is also set to announce a lengthy suspension for Alex Rodriguez, according to The Post. “It always has been MLB’s plan to announce the suspensions at one time for the 15-plus players believed...

So it's only been a few hours since the last Alex Rodriguez update which means we're due another. And we have one courtesy of a report in the New York Daily News. And the update is that A-Rod is in fact facing a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball due to what is reportedly "voluminous evidence" in connection to the Biogenesis scandal. MLB is however offering...

Almost 9 Years Later, Red Sox Couldn’t be Happier A-Rod Deal Fell Through

It was December 2003, and the Red Sox had just lost the ALCS to the hated Yankees a couple months prior, but everything seemed to be going the Red Sox way. They had just traded for the best Shortstop in all of baseball, and once he worked out a restructured deal, he would come to Boston and a number 3 jersey with the name Rodriguez would be handed to him at a press conference. All...

Alex Rodriguez is Ready to Play.

Less than a week after being sent back to Tampa with a grade 1 quad strain, Alex Rodriguez says he is ready to play. This news comes following a second opinion by controversial Dr. Michael Gross. The Yankees have said that ARod is not ready to play and he [...]

Alex Rodriguez Gets The Taiwanese Animation Treatment (Video)

The whole thing has become a circus now. The only thing I am curious about is if A-Rod gets to keep his money now.

A-Rod To Be Disciplined By Yankees For Second Opinion...???

((HT: ESPN)) So, Alex Rodriguez may be in trouble for going out of turn when it came to consulting a doctor outside of the Yankees purview... What a player is supposed to do, according to the MLBPA by-laws and collective bargaining agreement, is notify the team in writing that you're seeking an opinion that has nothing to do with the team you play for... ESPNNewYork...

Source: Yanks plan A-Rod discipline

A person familiar with the Yankees' deliberations says the team intends to discipline Alex Rodriguez for seeking a second medical opinion on his injured leg without New York's permission.

Has baseball set bad precedent?

Whatever happens with Alex Rodriguez, no matter how many players baseball suspends, the debate over the sport's investigation of Biogenesis does not figure to end anytime soon. To some, Ryan Braun's acceptance of a 65-game suspension indicated that for baseball, the end justified the means. An even longer suspension for Rodriguez, which could happen this week, according...

Cashman to A-Rod: “Go right ahead” with filing a grievance

There is no doubt that Brian Cashman has had his fill with Alex Rodriguez. The New York Yankes GM never wanted to sign him the enormous deal, and would love to see the Yanks move on completely from him. Unfortunately, that is not likely to happen, barring a lifetime ban from baseball due to A-Rod’s involvement in the Biogenesis scandal. Until that happens, which it may never come...
