Bronson Arroyo won for the first time
since June 25th on Wednesday.
Backed by a masterful pitching performance by the long-haired Bronson Arroyo, the Reds (64-66) managed to take game two of Wednesday's doubleheader, and thus, the series from Florida (58-72) by a final tally of 3-2. Here's the good, the bad, the notables and the Hard Hat from the contest:
The Good:
-Joey Votto picked up three more hits in the night cap, including his 24th homer of the season with a solo shot in the third. Overall, he went 5-for-7 with two homers, 4 RBI and two runs scored on the day.
-Bronson Arroyo has now strung three, consecutive quality starts together after the right-hander tossed eight innings of six-hit, no run baseball in the affair. He also laid down a sacrifice bunt to help himself improve to 8-10 on the year.
