Ricky Romero had one of his best outings of the season, lasting eight innings, allowing only one run on four hits as the southpaw guided the Bisons to a dominant 7-1 victory over Scranton Wilkes-Barre Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field.
Buffalo’s lineup struggled on the day but managed to convert when it mattered the most.
Despite mustering only four hits on the afternoon, the Bisons saw themselves up 7-0 through six innings of play.
Rail Riders starter Brett Marshall struggled with his control, walking five batters in six innings of action, allowing seven runs (four earned).
Bisons catcher Sean Ochinko put the final wounds in the Rail Riders day, launching his 3rd home run of the season to give Buffalo the 7-0 lead.
In addition to Ochinko’s blast, Jim Negrych also had a strong day for the Herd, driving in two runs in addition to being walked twice.
With the win, Ricky Romero improves to 2-3 in Buffalo as the Bisons improve to two games over .500 on the season (49-47).
Buffalo now sits in 3rd in the IL North, 3.5 GB of 1st place Pawtucket and 1.5 GB of Norfolk in the IL Wild Card Standings.
The Bisons now have the next three days off as part of the International League All-Star break before returning to action Thursday at home against Toledo at 7:05.

The Toronto Blue Jays have struggled to play consistent baseball all season with second base being their biggest point of contention. The Jays initially thought either Maicer Izturis or Emilio Bonifacio would step up and claim the starting job however both have struggled and neither have done anything to support their case to be an everyday player.
Bonifacio has been especially disappointing...
The Toronto Blue Jays Melky Cabrera, currently on a rehabilitation assignment in Florida, was accused by a waitress of being a little tight on a tip at a local Chili’s. Cabrera played his first rehab game in Dunedin, Florida, on Friday and apparently treated his teammates to dinner after the game (unless he rang up a $70 bill himself). Unwritten rules dictate the veterans on...

As the signing deadline for selections in the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft passed as of 5:00 PM on Friday, the Toronto Blue Jays certainly kept it interesting by making two last minute signings and failing to make one significant signing in the process.
The Blue Jays were unable to come to an agreement with their first-round (10th overall) pick, Phil Bickford, on Friday and while they...

Omar Vizquel remains a Cleveland Indians fan favorite. Fans appreciated Vizquels on-field wizardry, and that he was one of them in the teams era of greatness in the 1990.s To this day, Vizquel seems to have a tough time coming to grips with how beloved he is in the eyes of Indians fans. I know this was a couple days ago, but it still cracks me up. You see where the ball is. It’s literally bouncing two feet in front of the plate and Rajai Davis swung at it. Absolutely brilliant. You will not see a guy swing at a worse pitch than this.

“Prancercising” took the Internet by storm earlier this year but has kind of died out recently. Buffalo, NY - Two games, and two homeruns by Dan Johnson. It wasn’t the expected storyline of Saturday night’s doubleheader at Coca-Cola Field, but the Railriders of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre have no complaints. They Yankees’ Triple-A club took both games from the Bisons on a warm...
