Rotation Looks Good

With so many positions, or players for that matter in question for next season, there is one thing that we already know about -- the starting rotation. Not only do we know who the candidates are, but we know what to expect, and that would be success. Next season, with the return of Liriano, the rotation has the potential to be very good. The Twins have a lot of young guys that should step in and be the starters from day one, and those players include Matt Garza and Kevin Slowey. So, the four "should be" locks in the rotation are Johan Santana, Francisco Liriano, Matt Garza and Kevin Slowey. And those four, although they are young, are very good. Johan Santana, you know about. He is the two-time Cy-Young winner, and you know what to expect from him almost every time out. Liriano, we know about as well, and if he can still throw hard next season and stay healthy, watch out. Garza has had his rough spots, but who doesn't, and when he's been good, he's been really good. And then, there is Kevin Slowey. He is actually somewhat of a sleeper, but has been very good in his most recent outings, and even before that pitched pretty well. That rotation right there is good enough in my opinion, but it could get even better. After Slowey, the Twins could go with the cheap option, and put in Scott Baker. He would be a great fit, and has had his share of awesome games this season. And, if they want to keep Johan happy, there is the option to sign Silva to replace Baker or possibly Slowey in the rotation. So, while we might not know who will be in center or at third next season, one thing is for sure -- you don't need to worry about the rotation.
