Royals pitcher Danny Duffy was placed on the disabled list on Monday, with Nate Adcock coming up from Triple-A Omaha to take his place. Duffy's injury is to his left elbow, although the Royals had not yet received results of an MRI when they made the announcement. Duffy pitched just two-thirds of an inning on Sunday against the White Sox before leaving the game. In six starts for the Royals this season, the 23-year-old southpaw is 2-2 with a 3.90 ERA and 28 strikeouts. His last decision was in a 4-3 win over the Yankees on May 3, when he went five and one-third innings and gave up two runs on six hits. Adcock, 24, has pitched in three games this season for the Royals, going 0-0 with a 2.89 ERA. He was optioned to Triple-A on Saturday when Greg Holland was activated from the DL. In four starts this season for Omaha, Adcock is 3-1 with a 1.37 ERA. Adcock is expected to arrive from Omaha in time to join Kansas City (13-20, fourth in AL Central) when they take on Texas (23-1...
