According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the New York Yankees are still shopping RHP A.J. Burnett but they are doing it quietly. The deal would likely be a salary dump to expand their budget.
The Yankees are looking to sign a Johnny Damon, Raul Ibanez or Hideki Matsui type player. However, the Yankees would probably have to eat more of Burnett’s salary. They are only offering to eat $8 million of Burnett’s $33 million.
