Nolan Ryan embodies the spirit of the Rangers

Nolan Ryan's spirit drives the Rangers, similar to the way Stan Musial's does the Cardinals.

WS G4: Holland masterful; Rangers even series with 4-0 win

After getting trounced the night before, 16-7, I'm not sure many Rangers fans knew what to expect the next game out. Anyone who picked a near complete game shutout by Derek Holland was either really high on Holland, or perhaps just high. I don't think anyone really figured we'd get THAT good of a performance from Holland. Oh, he's shown moments of greatness during...

World Series Pitcher Impersonates Late Announcer (Video)

Not only did Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland nearly toss a complete-game, 2-hit shutout on Sunday, he followed that performance up with an equally impressive one on Monday night during Game 5 of the World Series. Watch as the young left-hander does a great impersonation of the late, great Harry Caray during an in-game interview. (Click here to listen to his Arnold Schwarzenegger...

Nolan Ryan hearing it after first pitch

Nolan Ryan couldn't catch up with the first-pitch fastball thrown by former president George W. Bush in Game 3.

Ryan, Bush a hit with Rangers franchise

Prior to Game 4 of the World Series, President George W. Bush threw the ceremonial first pitch, and Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan was supposed to catch it. He missed. The two of them, however, are a hit in the world of the Texas Rangers. Through the efforts of first Bush, and now Ryan, the Rangers have made the transformation from the punchline of baseball's sad franchise...

One Man’s Island: Texas holds its breath to give a “Legend” one more chance at greatness

From what I heard, this was a one great World Series. I fully expected the St. Louis Cardinals to continue their 23-8 end season run all the way to the World Series title, but thanks to Mitch Moreland, Adrian Beltre and Mike Napoli on Monday night, it might not happen. Texas won 4-2 to take a 3-2 World Series lead. Not that I give a frig about St. Louis, just trying to be an...

Rangers Pitcher Derek Holland Is a Funny Guy

Rangers pitcher, Derek Holland took some time to chat with Joe Buck and Tim McCarver during the World Series on Monday night and he did not disappoint anyone.  Check out the below impressions Holland gave of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Harry Caray.  Well done sir. Mr. Holland's Mustache

St. Louis Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak has been called a lot of things: bright, shrewd, sharp, a hilarious jokester, and a swell square dancer.Possibly we should add "ignorant" to that list. Allow friend of The Hall (and chairman of the American Mustache Institute) Dr. Aaron Perlut explain.About a year ago, I wrote that I had asked Mozeliak whether he was concerned...

Bold warnings among Series logos are sad reminders

A pair of World Series logos are painted boldly on the field, with a large Texas ''T'' between them behind home plate. Ceremonial bunting hangs down from the upper portions of Rangers Ballpark. There are banners and good-luck charms all over the place - on the dugouts, scoreboard and signs held up by fans - that the Rangers are back in the World Series. Also in...

Pride in hometown Rangers? Roger that

Before the Texas Rangers existed, before Nolan Ryan paved his road to Cooperstown with strikeouts and no-hitters, there was only one golden arm in Texas, and his name was Roger Staubach.

C.J. Wilson Says The Rangers Need To Make Him "Feel Special"

Every morning, the fine folks at Sports Radio Interviews sift through the a.m. drive-time chatter to bring you the best interviews with coaches, players, and personalities across the sports landscape. Today: Wilson might be done in Texas, unless Nolan Ryan sends him flowers. <a href="http://deadspin.com/5853660/cj-wilson-says-the-rangers-need-to-make-him-feel-special"...
