The Padres arrived in Seattle to face their natural rivals in the first three games of the 16th annual Vedder Cup. The took to the challenge, sweeping their first series of the year against the hated Mariners to grab a commanding three game to none lead in Vedder Cup competition. They will face each other again a week from Friday at Petco Park after the Padres travel to Oakland on Friday for three games before heading home to face the Rangers for three games on Monday. No team has ever come back from being down 3-0 to take the coveted Vedder Cup. The Padres will need just one more win to bring it back home where it belongs.
