For those of you not "in the know" the title means- Brian Sanches is back with the Phillies organization. Word!Anyway, it was announced yesterday that Amaro has signed Brian Sanches, Scott Elarton, and Tuffy Gosewisch to minor league contracts. Of the 3, Sanches has the most upside. In fact, the 33 year old righty reliever owns a career 3.58 ERA/1.38 WHIP over 6 MLB seasons. He's been a cog in the Marlins bullpen the past 3 years and could easily sneak into the Phillies relief corps to work middle innings should the higher ups decide De Fratus, Schwimer, or Aumont need more minor league seasoning. Sanches was in the Phils system from 2004-2007. The only hangup on him is his spotty control (119 BB in 228.2 IP), but he surrenders less than a hit per inning (197 H).
