So today was Bryce Harper Bobblehead day at Nationals Park, and Harper apparently put on a show during batting practice (photo of Harper taking his hacks by @ZacBoyer), his first since going down with his knee injury almost a month ago. Harper was impressed with the standing ovation and adoration he received from the early arriving crowd:
Well that felt unreal! #BP #Lovethefans

And so, after Davey Johnson and Bryce Harper famously differed in opinon on the timetable for Harper's first rehab start over the weekend, it seems Harper's take-it-slow stance has changed. Maybe Harper was inspired by the Bobblehead Day crowd? Regardless, he'll start Tuesday night for the P-Nats.
Good for the P-Nats, who missed out on the Harper-Strasburg...
The sun rises, the sun sets, and Jayson Werth suffers another injury due to...dehydration? Up above, Jayson Werth giving the cut sign to the Nats dugout after his base hit in the fourth inning.
"I think it’s a situation where I’ve been kind of sick the last couple of days, haven’t really eaten a whole lot, probably pretty dehydrated." (Jayson Werth, via Washington...
"I’m not a kid anymore. ...You know, I should be allowed to stretch a little bit out there… No big deal. Obviously he cares about me and wants everything to be OK, but there was nothing to be worried about." Nationals 2, Rockies 1:...
Good news for Washington Nationals fans everywhere, Bryce Harper is starting his comeback. Starting Tuesday, Harper will begin rehab at Class A Potomac. This is early even in Harper’s opinion. Before the Rockies game on Saturday Harper believed he wouldn’t be ready until at least Wednesday or Thursday.
After a positive practice Monday at Nationals Park, the Nats organization...
The Washington Nationals are preparing to send struggling starter Dan Haren to the DL. Amanda Comak of the Washington Times tweeted that the news first came from Nats radio man Charlie Slowes, but it was subsequently confirmed by GM Mike Rizzo.

It's funny how things turn out.
The Nationals are expected to place Dan Haren on the disabled list Tuesday with right shoulder stiffness, three days after he gave up six earned runs in 3 13 innings in a loss to the Rockies that pushed his ERA to 6.15. Haren is not convinced his shoulder is an issue, telling the Washington Post, "I don't know. What'd they say?"...
Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth recently returned from a hamstring injury, and he's now hampered by a groin ailment. The slugger expects to rejoin the Nationals' lineup tomorrow, but Sports Chiropractor Dr. Ray Solano cautions that the injuries could linger and require another stint on the disabled list if not treated properly.
Jayson Werth is hoping to...
Entering the season, it would have seemed foolish to suggest the Washington Nationals would eventually be in the market for rotation assistance this summer. Impressive young arms Jordan Zimmermann, Stephen Strasburg and Ross Detwiler and Cy Young Award-candidate Gio Gonzalez were joined by former ace Dan Haren. However, following Haren's move to the disabled list, the Nationals...

Take a look at Denard blowing a perfect bubble and at the same time making a perfect catch on a fly ball. And they say guys aren’t good at multitasking…

The right-hander allowed six runs over 3 1-3 innings with seven hits including his 19th home run surrendered and an RBI single to opposing starter Jhoulys Chacin, who pitched seven shutout innings as the Washington Nationals fell to the Colorado Rockies 7-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Happy Saturday and welcome to the best day of the week to be a baseball fan. We’ve got baseball games from nearly sun up to sun down today, with the Rockies in Washington to kick off one of those whacky but relatively cool 12:10 starts in D.C. on Bryce Harper Bobblehead Day.
And again, because we’re obsessed with classic ballgames; you’re going to get an education on some 80′s...
Though his win-loss record doesn't show it, Gio Gonzalez has been one of the hottest pitchers in baseball for the past six weeks.
The Washington Nationals hope to provide enough run support for Gonzalez to earn his first victory in that span as they host the NL West-leading Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.

Remember the Washington Nationals, chic preseason World Series pick? Well, the Nationals have scuffled thusfar this season, but lately, they're showing signs of putting it all together. Washington has won three in a row, and knocked off the Rockies 2-1 last night in a vintage performance from Stephen Strasburg (and an all too common performance from their offense this season...
