The last we heard of right-handed pitcher, Scot Shields, was that he was leaning towards retirement.
“I would say probably,” Shields said in September about the possibility of retiring. “There's a business and a personal side of it. From the business side, you look at the bullpen and you can see all the young relievers they have coming up.”
