Figured I’d pass this information along since there are always commentor or two asking about him… Scott Kazmir is still out there and wants to pitch, but the guy who was known for having a live fastball is stuck in the 84-85 mph range, according to Jayson Stark of ESPN. Typically it’s not a bad idea to sign anybody on a non-guaranteed contract, but in this case Kazmir truly seems like a waste of time. His velocity was down in the mid-80′s last season too so it doesn’t appear that he’s close to improving anytime soon.
