The Seattle Mariners started their latest ten game road trip in grand fashion, winning their first four games. They then dropped their last six, including all four games to the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays are tied for best record in the American League, and it was a competitive series for Seattle losing three games by one run and the other by two. The Mariners then finally returned home, to see their losing streak go to a season high seven games losing to Minnesota 3-2. Seattle then righted the ship winning the last two games and taking the series. When it was all said and done after today’s win, the Mariners stand at 13-17 on the season, third place in the A.L. West and six games behind the division leading Texas Rangers.
Felix Hernandez stopped the Mariners' seven game losing streak by throwing eight shut out innings against the Twins on Saturday.
Good News. You can’t say enough about Felix Hernandez’s performance on Saturday night. He took the mound with the Mariners owning a ...

Ump throws ball at Noesi (VIDEO)
Hilarious situation in Seattle this weekend. Hector Noesi had two balls thrown at him. One by the ump, one by his catcher. Have a look.
Nice reflexes Hector!
He threw one low pitch, but ended up getting back two baseballs. Wish I had this luck with women.
Two Mariners combine to 1-hit struggling Twins
SEATTLE (AP) -- Felix Hernandez took advantage of late run support to give a needed win for the Seattle Mariners.

Retooled Mariners lineup contributes to weekend success
The new-look Seattle Mariners lineup with Dustin Ackley leading off and Brendan Ryan batting
second is off to a good start. The Mariners won two of three from the Twins over the weekend with this lineup, which
came in the wake of left fielder/third baseman Chone Figgins being moved into a utility
role. Figgins was hitting .189 as the club's primary leadoff hitter, one...
Hector Noesi throws pitch, gets 2 balls back
Seattle Mariners pitcher Hector Noesi must have thought he was seeing double during Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins when— after having a pitch land in the dirt— his catcher and the umpire got their signals crossed and each threw a ball back at the surprised Noesi.
In the third inning, the former New York Yankees pitcher threw a strike to catcher John Jaso. Jaso...

Tigers In Town!
The M’s were able to rally together and break a 7 game losing streak in their second game against the Twins.
The M’s have lost the most games in which they once had the lead in all of baseball with 10.
Their problem is obvious, although they are in 4th place of all the 30 teams in hits, they are not getting those base-runners home.
As the M’s are edging toward...
What Kind of Chins Do The Mariners Have?
Can the Mariners take a punch? Easy, easy, I’m talking figuratively.
I say that because the Tigers are in town tonight to open a three-game series. Item one in the Detroit memory bank is the Mariners coming to the Motor City, taking the Tigers apart April 24-26 in a three-game sweep, outscoring them 21-9. How good a stretch was it for the Mariners as they opened a long 10-game...

After giving the Minnesota Twins the chance to earn a rare win, the Seattle Mariners turned the tables in the middle game of the series.
Fresh off the end to a lengthy skid, the Mariners will try to record back-to-back home wins for the second time this season in Sunday's finale.
Seattle (12-17) snapped a seven-game losing streak and a five-game skid at Safeco Field by limiting...

Octavio Dotel came on in the ninth for Detroit with closer Jose Valverde unavailable after three consecutive appearances. Dotel walked Brendan Ryan and Ichiro Suzuki then advanced both with a wild pitch. Ryan scored...
Early trade candidates- American league
Even though the season is just underway, it's never to early to talk trade candidates. We're going to name a few players that could be trade candidates as the July Trade Deadline approaches. First, lets take a look at the American League.

Catching: The Hidden Talents
Mariners catcher Miguel Olivo is in his 11th season in the major leagues, and while it is fair to say that he hasn't ever truly lived up to expectations for some, the 33-year-old's impact on the game shouldn't be discounted.
