Seattle Mariners right-hander Kevin Millwood didn't allow a hit through six innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night, but left before the start of the seventh with a mild strain of his right groin. Millwood had allowed just one walk in six innings. He came out to start the seventh inning and threw one warmup pitch. As he started into his motion for a second, Millwood stopped himself from throwing realizing something was not right. Manager Eric Wedge and trainer Rick Griffin came out to the mound and after a brief conversation with home plate umpire Brian Runge, Millwood walked off the field. He was replaced by left-handed reliever Charlie Furbush. Millwood threw just 68 pitches and struck out six. It was the second time this season he had carried a no-hitter at least five innings. He threw a complete-game two-hitter at Colorado last month.
