The San Francisco Giants dominated the 2012 All Star Game. The fans obviously knew what these guys could do by voting them in the starting lineup. Okay I’m joking about the ballot stuffing. You can’t fault Giants fans for stepping up and voting their guys in. Maybe next year some other teams will try to get their fans to vote more. Giants All Star HighlightsMelky Cabrera got things started for the National League by getting the first hit of the All Star Game.Buster Posey walked in his first AB, and scored a run from 1st base (Sandoval triple).Pablo Sandoval hits a bases loaded triple in the top of the 1st inning.Matt Cain is the National League starting pitcher and tossed two scoreless innings to set the tone for the National League pitchers.Cabrera gets his 2nd hit and its a 2-run homer. 2012 First Half Review: The Starters

Since there’s no baseball today or tomorrow, I figure I’d be remiss if I didn’t take a stab at a first half review. For the sake of simplicity, I’ll divide it into three segments: the starters, the offense, and the bullpen. Without further ado… Matt Cain Oh, Matt Cain. Where to begin? Right as the offseason was drawing to a close, the Giants signed Cain to a rather massive...

Cain vs. Verlander: Best of their era?

Tony La Russa doesn't concern himself with storylines. If he did, he would have chosen New York Mets' knuckleballing sensation R.A. Dickey to start the All-Star Game. Instead, La Russa picked San Francisco's Matt Cain as the National League starter and created a different theme to the pitching matchup for tonight's All-Star Game (MLB on FOX, 7:30 p.m. ET). The subplot...
