Let’s get everyone all caught up to speed with the San Francisco Giants and their arbitration eligible players. On Friday, the Giants hammered out deals with four of their six arbitration eligible players. The following four players have agreed to terms and avoid arbitration are catcher Buster Posey ($8 million), outfielder Hunter Pence ($13.8 million), reliever Jose Mijares ($1.8 million), and outfielder Gregor Blanco ($1.35 million). That leaves two players that are going through the arbitration process. That’s closer Sergio Romo, and infielder Joaquin Arias. Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports (via Twitter) that Romo filed for $4.5 million, and the Giants were at $2.675 million. I haven’t heard any figures for Arias at this time. Anthony Sulla-Heffinger of the New York Post breaks the story over the weekend that closer Brian Wilson‘s tenure in San Francisco is likely at the end. “I’m going to be brutally honest as I always am, I don’t [think Wilson will return],” says GM Brian Sa...

Brian Wilson Will Not Return to Giants

As soon as the San Francisco Giants non-tendered Brian Wilson, it was unlikely that he would return to the club.  Now it seems to be a certainty.  Wilson recently worked out for the New York Mets, but the team has not made any contract offers that we are aware of.  Of course, this means Wilson is still free for the taking.  But the Giants won't be taking him. The Year of San Francisco

Every year, Boston, New York, or Los Angeles are usually involved in the championship discussions of the major sports. When a smaller city rises to the top in one sport, it comes off as a surprise to many, but when one city does it in all three sports, the sports world gets turned upside down. San Francisco is doing just that. 2012 San Francisco Giants via ruvilla.com The...

Giants, Posey not rushing new deal

Good luck to the San Francisco Giants trying to figure out what catcher Buster Posey is worth long term. It's not a stretch to imagine Posey replacing Derek Jeter as the game's standard-bearer. Heck, the 25-year-old Posey already is more accomplished than Jeter at a comparable stage of his career, despite appearing in only 308 regular-season games. Both players won Rookie...

"I'm going to be brutally honest as I always am, I don't (think Wilson will return)," Sabean said in the New York Post while attending an event in New York. "In this...
