Manager-bruce-bochy
Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle recently caught up with San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy. Schulman asked him questions about Pablo Sandoval, Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson. Bochy recently spoke to Sandoval over the phone and asked him about his weight. Bochy was satisfied with Sandoval’s answer (via Twitter). The video I seen of Sandoval hitting a big home run in Venezuela looked like he didn’t shed many pounds this offseason (if any). I hope he’s not just assuming he’s going to put up big numbers. Half the battle for these guys is to have their bodies in the best possible shape. Schulman also asked Bochy if he absolutely will tell Lincecum he will throw to Buster Posey this year. Bochy said he wants every pitcher to be ready to work with either catcher (Twitter Links). Bochy might not want to tell Lincecum directly that he has to be ready to pitch to Posey, but he should address the team and say Posey is our guy behind the dish. Bochy tells Schulman there’s not...

The two year contract buys out Romo’s arbitration years. He will be eligible to be a free agent following the 2014 season. This post will be updated with more details tomorrow (2/7). ~King of Cali (Steven Robles...

Down on the Farm: Roger Kieschnick 2013 Preview

Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE Outfielder Roger Kieschnick was the San Francisco Giants‘ third-round draft pick in 2008 out of Texas Tech. In ’09, Kieschnick was a Cal League All-Star and shined in San Jose hitting .296 with 23 home runs and 110 RBI. Since then however, Kieschnick has struggled with some nagging back injuries which limited him to only 60 games in 2010...

SF Giants Rumors: Ramon Ramirez Is Back, Tony Abreu Picked Up Off Waivers

Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com says (via Twitter) the San Francisco Giants have agreed to terms with reliever Ramon Ramirez. The Giants traded Ramirez and Andres Torres to the Mets for outfielder Angel Pagan last offseason.   It’s funny that now all three of these guys will be on the same team in San Francisco. It’s like the Giants let the Mets borrow these guys and gave us Pagan...

San Francisco Giants sign Sergio Romo to two-year deal

The San Francisco Giants announced Wednesday evening that they have signed RP Sergio Romo to a two-year deal worth a reported $9 million dollars. The deal allowed the Giants to wrap up all of their arbitration cases before any hearing were required. The move allows Romo to become a free agent after the 2014 season. Romo recorded 14 saves last season for the Giants with a 1.79 ERA...

Sergio Romo, Giants agree to 2-year deal

The Giants on Wednesday agreed to a two-year contract with closer/photobomber Sergio Romo, avoiding arbitration. Romo was the final arbitration-eligible Giants player the team had to to agree on a new deal with. While details of salary aren’t clear, Andrew Baggarly reports… it’s expected Romo and the club settled in between the club’s $2.675 salary filing and the right-hander’s...

Tim Lincecum officially unveils new haircut

> Tim Lincecum has gotten a haircut. Actually, it appears he has gotten several of them. Back in December, rumors swirled that the San Francisco Giants pitcher had chopped off his long, flowing locks. There was photo evidence at the time, but it was a bit blurry and there were some skeptics who refused to believe it. Now, it’s official. Lincecum was one of the biggest stories...

LOL Mets

Yep, so everyone who was involved in that 2011 deal between the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants are now on the Giants, and the two players traded to New York are back on rather inexpensive deals, at that.  Oh, and the Giants won the World Series. So, LOL Mets.  Angel Pagan got pretty damn good when he came to the Giants, and both Andres Torres and Ramon Ramirez were...

Tim Lincecum Has a New Look

San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum made a change this off-season.  He’s gone with the ever-more popular hipster-athlete look. I don’t think anyone can blame Lincecum for making a change. Even though the Giants won the World Series,  ”The Freak” had a terrible year. In 2012 he went 10-15 and gave up a career worst 111 runs. New year, new look for @timlincecum: twitter...

Tim Lincecum Cuts Hair, Now Looks More Like Joseph Gordon-Levitt Than Mitch From ‘Dazed and Confused’ (Photo)

For years now, Tim Lincecum has been sporting some rockin’ hair. Often saying it was one of the few things in life he could control, Lincecum’s black locks were a big part of his image — no matter how much he looked like Wiley Wiggins playing Mitch in the film Dazed and Confused. Well, now Lincecum has a new look. On Friday, Lincecum showed up to a Giants team event sporting...

Tim Lincecum looks, um, different (Photos)

When we last saw Tim Lincecum it was in the World Series, still with the “Dazed and Confused” look for which we’ve come to know him. The long hair, the vacant smile. It all made sense when Lincecum got busted for weed a few years back. But when he appeared in front of the media on Friday, you could barely recognize him. The flowing, often-grimey locks were gone, replaced by...

New-look Lincecum ready for a comeback with Giants

Sporting short hair and specs he doesn't need but chooses to complete his new look, Tim Lincecum looked nothing like the hard-throwing San Francisco pitcher the Bay Area has come to know for his shaggy `do and strong arm. Lincecum drew comparisons Friday ranging from Buddy Holly to Elvis Costello and even Greg Maddux. Silicon Valley smarty, to poet and professor. A transformed...

SF Giants Rumors: Media Day Notes

Credit: Steven Robles – SF Giants Rumors Today is the day that really started to get my baseball juices flowing. I attended the San Francisco Giants Media Day at AT&T Park. I will get more in depth about the news I learned and interviews in the near future. Below is some notes from Media Day.   As you probably guessed; Hunter Pence was asked a lot of questions about his speech...
