Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle says outfielder Nate Schierholtz is ready to move on if another team wants to give him a larger role. Schierholtz doesn’t get very much playing time these days for the San Francisco Giants. “There’s no place I’d rather play than here, says Schierholtz. “It’s where I grew up. It’s home to me. I love the fans. I love the city. There’s not one thing I can’t say I love about this place, but I think I’ve come to the realization that maybe I’m not their guy. I’m not in the cards having a future here.”
The 28 year old Schierholtz is currently batting .248 with 3 homers and 12 RBI. He’s a career .270 hitter with 21 homers and 114 RBI.
It’s sad to see a local guy want to leave, but you can’t blame him for wanting to go to a place where he’s going to get more playing time.
