Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle says outfielder Nate Schierholtz is ready to move on if another team wants to give him a larger role. Schierholtz doesn’t get very much playing time these days for the San Francisco Giants.   “There’s no place I’d rather play than here, says Schierholtz. “It’s where I grew up. It’s home to me. I love the fans. I love the city. There’s not one thing I can’t say I love about this place, but I think I’ve come to the realization that maybe I’m not their guy. I’m not in the cards having a future here.” The 28 year old Schierholtz is currently batting .248 with 3 homers and 12 RBI. He’s a career .270 hitter with 21 homers and 114 RBI. It’s sad to see a local guy want to leave, but you can’t blame him for wanting to go to a place where he’s going to get more playing time. Don’t forget to go to the SF Giants Rumors Facebook page to share your thoughts on Schierholtz. ~King of Cali (Steven) ———-——–...

Hector Sanchez to the DL, Eli Whiteside Called Up

Earlier today, the San Francisco Giants placed Hector Sanchez on the 15-day DL with a left knee strain, with Eli Whiteside coming up from Triple-A Fresno to replace him. Sanchez’s injury isn’t supposed to be all that serious — it won’t require surgery, and he should be fine within a week, but according to Baggs, with Sanchez likely out for a week, the Giants felt it made...

SF Giants Rumors: Zito Dominates, Posey’s Big Night, Sanchez Injury, EX-Giant DFA

Everyone expected the San Francisco Giants to run into a brick wall when they faced the smoking hot Braves. Instead Barry Zito tossed 7 innings of 3 hit ball and not allowing a single run. In 5 career starts at Turner Field, Zito is 4-0 with a 1.63 ERA.   Buster Posey had a BIG night! Posey collected 3 hits and 5 RBI. One of his hits was a bases loaded double that cleared the bases...

Quick Hits: Belt, Brown and Lincecum

Because there are so many little news stories surrounding the Giants lately, here are some blurbs on each of them: Bruce Bochy pinch hits Belt? We are all aware of hoe Brandon Belt has been treated since he first made the big league roster in 2011. After over a year and a half of the Giants front office sending him up and down like a yo-yo, it has become clear the Giants mismanagement...

Bochy: Posey will team with Lincecum again

San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy tried to head off any potential mild controversy Friday when he refuted a report by a national baseball writer on Twitter that claimed that Buster Posey would not catch Tim Lincecum the rest of this season. "Completely false," Bochy told reporters before the Giants' 7-2 win at Philadelphia. Eli Whiteside was behind the plate...

Cabrera repeated the gesture at least twice during the Giants’ 9-4 win on Wednesday....

Giants' Cabrera is no fan favorite in Atlanta

San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera had a series to remember in Atlanta. Not because of any game-ending hits or homer-preventing catches, but because of his body language, how he irritated the Braves and the apparent tension between Cabrera and Chipper Jones. Cabrera, the All-Star Game MVP last week, was a struggling Brave in 2010, and he didn't exactly get treated...

Postgame Wrap: L.O.B. City

You can read the box score yourself. Hits: Giants 9, Braves 3. Team left on base: Giants 8, Braves 1. Runs: Giants 2, Braves 3. Throw in the fact that Giants players drew two walks and failed to give one out makes this one of the more frustrating games of the season. Tables were set, little shrimp forks were placed just to the left of the salad forks, and the centerpiece was gaudy...
