The San Francisco Giants arrived in Cincinnati at 3am, so I guess that’s the reason they looked like they were sleeping offensively till the 9th inning in last nights game. It appears Aubrey Huff will not be joining the team anytime soon. The Giants are purchasing the contract of infielder Joaquin Arias to take Huff’s spot on the roster. It’s likely Huff will be placed on the 7-day personal leave list or the 15-day DL. Keeps On Hitting Pablo Sandoval keeps the hitting streak intact with a single in the 9th inning. The streak is now at 17 games, and that’s the SF Giants record for a hitting streak to start the season. Sandoval passed Willie Mays. The longest streak since 2000 is held by ex-Giant Edgar Renteria in 2006 with the Braves. Rehab Freddy Sanchez went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI in his 2nd game for the San Jose Giants. He’s currently 3-for-7 in his 2 rehab games. May 11th is the day the Giants would like Sanchez to join the team in Arizona. ~King of Cali (Steven) ———-...

Giants Place Aubrey Huff on 15-Day DL, Call Up Joaquin Arias

According to Hank Schulman, Aubrey Huff has been placed on the 15-day DL with anxiety disorder, for which he is currently getting treatment. He’s already missed the past few games, and it’s looking like this will open the door for both Nate Schierholtz and Brandon Belt to be in the starting lineup on a regular basis. As for Huff, this kind of problem is no fun, and one can only...

SF Giants Rumors: Update On Huff’s Anxiety

The struggling veteran Aubrey Huff has been placed on the 15-day DL. Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com says he heard back in spring training that Huff’s wife had filed for a divorce. I really don’t want to get much into his personal life, but that could be a factor in Huff’s anxiety. He’s expected to join the team in San Francisco tomorrow (Friday).   Huff’s hitting .182...

That record was held...

And Then The Giants Did Say, “Let There Be Offense”

Hello again everyone, I’ve returned from my brief vacation and found that I’ve missed some strange goings-on.  I leave the state for four days and Aubrey Huff plays second base, Brandon Belt gets to play, Barry Zito is still amazing somehow, and the Giants managed to win on the road in New York.  All that still wasn’t as surprising to me though as one thing that caught my...

It appears this is a mental issue and not a physical issue with Huff.Huff texted manager Bruce Bochy a few days ago and told him he had a family emergency and was going home to Florida. The Giants were playing the Mets in New York at that time. There was a lot of speculation by Giants...

Squared. And sometimes, even all that is not enough. On Monday April 23, Aubrey Huff of the San Francisco Giants mysteriously left the team for what was termed a “family...

Huff Missing From Games

Aubrey Huff, of the San Francisco Giants, was a no-show for not one, but two games Monday. Apparently, Huff sent his manager, Bruce Bochy, a text message early Monday morning stating that he would not be

Giants replace rally thong with ‘I’m sexy and I know it’ muscle shirt

Two years ago, the Giants won the World Series and believed a red thong had a lot to do with it. For those who are unfamiliar with the history of San Francisco’s “rally thong,” it was discovered by Aubrey Huff during one of the worst slumps of his career. You can read the lingerie’s full background here, and see some pictures of Huff flaunting it at the Giants World Series...

Giants 7, Mets 2

Without Aubrey Huff, the San Francisco Giants are trying to focus on baseball and move forward, and manager Bruce Bochy likely will play Brandon Belt and Brett Pill more at first base. If you haven’t been to AT&T Park yet, prepare to be bombarded.  I appreciate that the team needs money to pay Cain, Lincecum and all the others, but wow, they really sold everything but the kitchen sinks.  I’m going to miss some of the basball-related quotes that used to be painted on the walls of the park, now covered by billboards. If you were expecting some kind of...

Giants Win, Never Have to Go Back to Cincinnati Again (Hopefully)

Well this was a game that had a little bit of everything.  The Giants went down 2-0 early only to come back and score two runs of their own.  Then they went down 4-2 and scratched and clawed to get back within one run.  Then Scott Rolen,  he of the sub-Mendoza Line batting average in late April homered for the second time in the series and things felt like they’d been Cincinnati’d...
