San Francisco Giants Baseball (SF Giants...:
The San Francisco Giants are coming home tonight after a 5-3 road trip in Colorado and St. Louis. They will face the Rockies this weekend, and just swept them in Colorado to start off this past road trip. Let’s hope their winning ways over the Rockies continue at AT&T Park.
Pablo Sandoval is going to be back on the field tonight for the San Jose Giants. Sandoval will be playing today and tomorrow for San Jose. If everything goes well this weekend, he will likely be activated on Monday.
Giants prospect outfielder Gary Brown was injured during batting practice for AA-Richmond. Brown was hit in the head by the back-swing of teammate Ehire Adrianza. Brown was checked out and is okay. He’s since been placed back in the starting lineup.

The most interesting thing for Giants fans during Friday Night’s 3-0 loss to the lowly Rockies was a bizarre watercraft outside the stadium in McCovey Cove.
A man with a boat/hovercraft in the shape of the DeLorean from the Back to the Future movies raced around McCovey cove in the fourth inning of the game.
Unfortunately, the driver lost control of the craft and crashed into some rocks.

Bonds is right: No-doubt Hall of Famer – SweetSpot Blog – ESPN
It almost goes without saying, but Barry Bonds is deserving of Hall of Fame induction, and there’s no doubt about it.

A couple days ago, Jon Heyman published an article noting that Melky Cabrera and the Giants will put aside contract talks until after the season is over; the article inevitably started up another wave of speculation and discussion on what kind of money Cabrera should and/or will receive this offseason. But oddly enough, I’m not concerned with that — at least for the time being...
Melky Cabrera is having a career-year. After posting 4.2 WAR last year, Cabrera has once again been effective. The 27-year-old outfielder has already passed that total this season, accumulating 4.8 WAR so far.
Cabrera’s performance comes at a great time for him. At the end of the season, he can become a free-agent. And it looks like he’ll have a chance to hit the market, since...
A plaque commemorating Matt Cain's perfect game has been placed by the San Francisco Giants on a walkway outside the right field wall at AT&T Park.
Cain, the first Giants pitcher to throw a perfect game, was honored on Friday night in a pair of ceremonies before San Francisco hosted the Colorado Rockies.
The Giants brought in nearly two dozen members of Cain's family...
The race for the Most Valuable Player is a lot like a singing contest. It doesn't really matter much how the song starts, but how it finishes. And while most agree that if the season were to end right now, a certain Mr. McCutchen of the Pirates would probably get the nod. The season is not over yet. With a little more than a month and a half to go, Buster Posey has more than...
Newest San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence is a Twitter mainstay. But his Twitter handle has been anything but. We first knew Pence as @hunterpence9 during his days with Houston. Then, in Philadelphia, he was @hunterpence3. But alas, he got a new team and a new number, 8.
From this day forward, he shall be known simply as @HunterPence.
Twitter tends not to reassign...
To paraphrase Marty McFly from Back to the Future: "You made a hovercraft out of a DeLorean?"
Well, a man named Matthew Riese did, with some funding from Kickstarter, and it was on display in McCovey cove during Friday night's San Francisco Giants baseball game at AT&T Park against the Colorado Rockies
Seeing is believing, and based on this footage, the...
There are a number of possible free agent options this week for those scrounging for saves, so I’ll get right to it, starting with the San Francisco Giants. Bruce Bochy has announced that the Giants will go to a (gasp) closer by committee, meaning Jeremy Affeldt, Sergio Romo, Santiago Casilla and even Javier Lopez could be in line for save chances. I wish I knew Bochy personally...
The Giants, at least for now, have regained sole possession of first place, thanks to — well, everybody…
Matt Cain, in the nine-game stretch between his perfect game and today’s start: 57.1 innings, 46 K, 16 BB, 10 HR, 4.40 ERA. He hadn’t been awful. He hadn’t even been bad, really, by normal standards. By Cain standards, of course, he’d been a disappointment. The glaring...
Buster Posey hit a home run and drove in two runs to back Matt Cain's seven solid innings and the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 9-3 Saturday.
Cain (11-5) gave up two runs on seven hits in 7 1-3 innings, and added an RBI single, to win for the first time since July 15. He walked one and struck out six. Angel Pagan hit a two-run triple, and Marco Scutaro, Hunter...
Despite coming up short in the finale, the San Francisco Giants proved plenty potent on their just-completed road trip.
That was hardly the case during their last homestand.
The Giants - losers of seven of eight in San Francisco - return home Friday night to open a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies, who try to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat in this series after getting...
