Shane Victorino has already taken a role as a leader in the Dodgers clubhouse.  I missed this on Sunday, but Shane seems to have taken issue with James Loney in the Dodgers' clubhouse, according to ESPN Los Angeles reporter Arash Markazi: If that is the case, consider me impressed.   Also from ESPN Los Angeles, Victorino says that he hopes to re-sign with the Dodgers. "I don't want to just be a two-month or three-month rental," Victorino said. "I want to be here." In the piece, Victorino also reaffirmed his love for Philadelphia: "Don't get me wrong. I still miss Philly and I still miss everything about that place, but now that this chapter has come into play, there are a lot of other things I look at," Victorino said. "I'd love to stay here for the next however many years and win one here." So far with the Dodgers, Victorino is hitting .200 (5 for 25) with one double.  He has yet to hit a home run or steal a base.

Shane Victorino Is Just What The Dodgers Need

I don’t know how many of you heard this story, but ESPN Los Angeles reporter Arash Markazi recently reported that in the Dodgers clubhouse Shane Victorino had some words to share with James Loney and anyone else in the clubhouse who was listening. Shane said, “You MFers better show up earlier”. Now I know there are going to be some people who are going to say “who died...

Dodgers troll Jerry Sands by recalling him for one start

My fondness of Tony Gwynn is no secret. When the Dodgers signed him to a 2-year deal this winter, I was all in favor of it. But when the Dodgers acquired Shane Victorino from the Phillies, Gwynn's designation was inevitable. Gwynn still has value to a team. His defense in center field is elite, his speed off the bench is something that's coveted late in games and...

Even though outfielder Shane Victorino has played only five games with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he told his representatives that he wants to resign with the team Mark Saxon of ESPNLosAngeles reports. “I don't want to just be a two-month or three-month rental,” Victorino said. “I want to be here.” According to Saxon, playing for the Dodgers has shown Victorino the advantages...

Bobby Abreu to join Tony Gwynn Jr. in triple-A

Old left-handed outfielders never die, they just go back to the minors. Bobby Abreu is following Tony Gwynn Jr. to the Dodgers triple-A team in Albuquerque. Both cleared waivers after the Dodgers designated them for assignment following the arrival of Shane Victorino as their everyday left-fielder. The Dodgers announced after Wednesdays game that Gwynn had cleared waivers and...

Which Dodger player placed gum on Ted Lilly's hat? (Video)

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ted Lilly was a victim of the old gum-on-the-hat prank during Monday night's game at Dodger Stadium against the Colorado Rockies. Lilly was caught on the camera during the bottom of the second inning and clearly had no idea what was on his head. Someone managed to blow a bubble with the gum and keep in intact while placing it on Lilly's hat...

When he’s not playing baseball, Matt Kemp is working to become the game’s sartorial MVP. Like many other male athletes, the MLB fashionisto has even expressed an interest in clothing design. To merge his two interests and to commemorate a successful 2011 season, Diamond Cupply Co. and Hall of Fame Ltd. have teamed up with the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder to release a capsule...

The Dodgers are to blame for KStew cheating on RPatz? I'm not surprised.

If you are anything like me, you are obviously pretty broken hearted over this whole KStew cheating on RPatz thing. I haven't been able to eat for weeks. I've barely slept a wink. People may confuse me with that of a homeless person, as I haven't showered or shaved in weeks. WHY KSTEW!?!?! WHY!?!?! There had to be more to this! They seemed like such a happy (horrible...

Shane Victorino already on Dodgers teammates about arriving at park earlier

Shane Victorino has been with the Dodgers for less than a week, but it looks like he’s already taking on a leadership role with the team. According to Arash Markazi of ESPNLA, Victorino had already been in the team’s clubhouse for over an hour on Sunday prior to the team’s game at 4:10pm ET when a few of his teammates arrived. Victorino reportedly pointed to an imaginary watch...

Billingsley tops Rockies to win 4th straight

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Chad Billingsley shrugged off an inside-the-park home run by Eric Young Jr. on his fourth pitch of the game to win his fourth straight start, Matt Kemp hit a three-run homer and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 6-4 on Wednesday night to avoid a three-game sweep by baseball's worst pitching staff. Billingsley (8-9) was charged with four runs...

Dodgers-Marlins Preview

Hanley Ramirez is making his return to Miami, where Jose Reyes will have to start a new hitting streak. Ramirez and the Los Angeles Dodgers begin a three-game set Friday night against the Marlins after Reyes had the majors' longest hit streak snapped one day earlier. Miami (51-61) dealt Ramirez to Los Angeles (60-52) on July 25 along with left-handed reliever Randy Choate for...

Gwynn is latest victim of Dodgers' roster makeover

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reshaped their roster in the last two weeks, adding five new players via trade. Monday, they cut their second veteran outfielder in five days as Tony Gwynn Jr. was designated for assignment. Gwynn, like Bobby Abreu before him, fell victim to a lack of playing time with the acquisition of Shane Victorino. Gwynn was used often as a defensive replacement...
