Tonight was Josh Hamilton’s night, as he broke an American League record with 18 total bases. Hamilton went 5-5 with four home runs, a double and eight RBI against the Baltimore Orioles. Only Shawn Green has more total bases in a MLB game with 19 on May 23, 2002. Green accomplished this feat while playing with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League. Now, Shawn Green is thankful for Hamilton’s night as people are remembering Green’s amazing and record breaking game of almost ten years ago. You have to love how great current accomplishments bring to light the great accomplishments of the past. Hats off to Mr. Green. Thanks Josh!
